Dilemma...
I bought my 1985 RV in Texas and registered it in Calif in 2005. I had to pay my mechanic to make it Calif compliant at that time. It passed smog in 2007, and is now due for 2009, However, Calif has added additional smog safety pass requirements, something to do with new headers and other stuff. all to the tune of about $3000. Even though it passes the emissions test, it does not pass the other technical and functional tests.. ugh.
Now I only really drive it to BMan and back, so if this was needed for something I drove more often, I'd suck it up, and I am unemployed, so I really can't spend money now. And the rig is not worth much more than that... I think I can get an extension to cover me during Bman, but... then what do I do?
so I am wondering if I could register it in another state, such as Nevada or Arizona, or even Oregon.
any suggestions... otherwise, I will need to just sell it out of state. I love my rig, and my mechanic says it is in great shape, it is perfect for my needs on playa... I hate to part with her, I'd rather register her out of state if that works...
