I have only used El Monte in Oakland, and only because that is who Marian and Larry used before they bought their rigs.

I found the manager to be fair, and due to the large number of RVs he had in and out, I was allowed as a local to take the rig a day early and return it up to 3 days later as I had a driveway to park it in.

I had one rig a few days early, and found a problem with LP detector and had time to return it for another unit.

One year, my tranny went out 3 miles before the playa, I was able to use it on playa, but had called the manager from Gerlach and he sent a specail towbar with another client, who was willing to tow the RV with their rented RV to at least Gerlach where El Monte's tow company was allowed to pick it up from the street, as they were not covered to PU on the playa.

I have always paid the insurance, and one year it paid off, as I had cracked the window.

so, I give high marks for El Monte in Oakland, but it has been about 7 years since I have rented.
